Yes, they'd have genetic deformities. Like, the Serengeti was inbred (bred with its relatives), and it has a genetic deformity called "crystals". That's where the crystals form inside the cat's kidney or blatter. The urine becomes over saturated with crystalline compounds. They become harder to break down, the compounds then precipitate and begin to bond together, forming stones. As they pass through the Urethra, they can become lodged, blocking the urine from the urethra. It sounds gross, but it's very painful for the kitty.

Wow, I did not know that. And inbreeding among people brings about problems too. This was most commonly found in the Egyptians who believed that the pharaoh should always marry among his family to keep the royal blood pure. For example Tutankhamun (King Tut) married his half sister, Ankhesenamun, and when they attempted to have children both were stillborn. The unborn fetuses also had Marfan's Syndrome, a disease in which the child has very long limbs. It's a rare disease that they might have avoided, but their mother had received it from her father Amenhotep. He's also Tut's father but Tut himself didn't have the disease. There's your random bit of history for the day. (;

And about Eleanor and Franklin, they were like 3rd cousins so it's not that odd.

I knew that! I have Marfan's Syndrome, and I'm short.. >.>

Tut was nasty! He was like, what, 16? Razz I guess that wasn't uncommon then, though.

He was 6 when he took the throne and 18-ish when he died.

He didn't have kids until the last couple years of his reign, so Egyptologists believe he was around 17-19 when he fathered the children. And if you think of the life expectancy of Egyptians then (which was about 30) it wasn't odd for couples to have children that early, I mean girls were married off at about 14 years old. And Ramesses II had 21 kids by the time he was 21. Razz
